Colocation and Peering Policy for MinakiLabs
Colocation and Peering Policy for MinakiLabs-IX
Welcome to MinakiLabs-IX, a micro-IXP focused on fostering collaboration, growth, and innovation in the networking space. Our goal is to build a decentralized and community-driven platform, helping small businesses, startups, ISPs, and content providers to connect and thrive. Unlike traditional IXPs, we are still in an experimental phase, and we need your help to shape our platform as we grow.
Colocation Services
At MinakiLabs-IX, we provide virtual colocation by allowing peers to connect remotely through secure methods, without requiring on-site hardware. Our services are designed to be affordable and scalable, helping you achieve efficient connectivity while collaborating with us to improve the platform.
- Relay-Based Connections (Coming Soon): In the future, we plan to set up a relay system, which will allow peers to drop a line into our infrastructure and add their own routers remotely. This will make it even easier for businesses and ISPs to connect to our platform without needing to deploy extensive infrastructure.
- Collaborative Development: Peers are encouraged to be part of our development journey. We invite you to participate by sharing feedback, testing configurations, and offering solutions as we work together to make our IXP better.
Peering at MinakiLabs-IX
We offer public peering services for small businesses, ISPs, and startups looking for an innovative, cost-effective way to exchange traffic.
- Peering Connections (Currently Experimental): Our peering methods are still in development, and we are actively seeking community support to help test and optimize the platform. We encourage collaboration to find the best connection methods that will benefit all peers.
- Flexible Connectivity: We support both IPv4 and IPv6 peering, with flexible prefixes that make it easy for networks to integrate with our platform. As our infrastructure evolves, we plan to introduce additional protocols to enhance flexibility.
Our Collaborative Peering and Colocation Policy
MinakiLabs-IX is built on community collaboration. As we continue to grow and refine our platform, we ask peers to support our efforts by contributing in the following ways:
-
Contribute to Platform Development: We are actively seeking peers who are willing to contribute their expertise and feedback as we build and improve our infrastructure. By connecting to MinakiLabs-IX, you become part of a collaborative experiment aimed at decentralizing and optimizing network traffic exchange.
-
Subscription to Services: To help fund the development of the IXP, peers are required to subscribe to one of our monthly service offerings, such as API access, advanced monitoring tools, or our automation dashboard. These subscriptions help sustain the platform and allow us to expand our offerings.
-
Community Engagement: Feedback is essential. We rely on peers to share their experiences, troubleshoot challenges, and suggest improvements. Your engagement will directly impact the future of MinakiLabs-IX, and regular contributors will be recognized as key participants in the platform’s evolution.
-
Discretionary Rights: MinakiLabs-IX reserves the right to pause, limit, or terminate peering with any participant at any time. This includes, but is not limited to, lack of engagement or failure to support the platform through subscriptions or community involvement.
Security and Monitoring
While our infrastructure is still evolving, we take security seriously:
- Network Security: We provide robust DDoS protection, firewalls, and secure encryption for peer connections, ensuring the integrity and safety of your data.
- Collaborative Monitoring: As we test and implement new connection methods, we encourage peers to provide feedback and help identify areas where security or monitoring can be improved.
Future Developments: Relay System
We are excited to announce that in the future, we plan to implement a relay system that will allow peers to remotely drop a line into our IXP and add their routers. This innovative setup will offer new possibilities for seamless integration, enabling ISPs and businesses to connect without needing on-site hardware. Stay tuned for more details as we build toward this exciting development.
