How to Connect to MinakiLabs-IX

At MinakiLabs-IX, we welcome new peers to join our innovative micro-IXP platform. Our goal is to foster creativity and experimentation while providing robust, reliable interconnection solutions. Follow the steps below to begin your journey with us.

1. Review Our Peering Guidelines

Before sending a peering request, please take a moment to review our Peering Guidelines to ensure alignment with our platform’s technical requirements and community ethos. We encourage peers to approach their setup with a spirit of experimentation and learning.

2. Submit a Peering Request

Email us at peering@minakilabs.com with the following details:

Autonomous System Number (ASN)
Technical Information: IPv4 and/or IPv6 prefixes, BGP configuration, and any other relevant networking setup details.
Peering Challenge Plan: Share a brief description of how you plan to take on our Peering Challenge—this could be experimenting with new hardware, software, or a custom configuration.

3. Technical Requirements

To connect with us, please ensure your setup meets the following criteria:

BGP Support: You must have a valid ASN and be capable of configuring BGP peering.
Connection Methods:
- WireGuard VPN (current): Our platform utilizes WireGuard for secure peer connections. After your request is approved, we will provide the necessary WireGuard configuration details.
- Future Protocols: We are actively working to support additional connection types, such as GRE, L2TP, and direct cross-connects, as we expand our infrastructure.

4. Configure Your Router or Server

Once approved, we will share the WireGuard configuration file for your connection. Here is a summary of the peering information for your reference:

IPv4 Peering:
- Peering Address: 23.187.152.X
- Prefix: 23.187.152.0/24
- BGP ASN: 396500
IPv6 Peering:
- Peering Address: 2602:F82D::X
- Prefix: 2602:F82D::/36
- BGP ASN: 396500

5. Test and Go Live

Once your configuration is complete, we’ll run a series of tests to ensure connectivity and functionality. After successful validation, your network will be officially peered with MinakiLabs-IX.
