WordPress or a custom site: how to choose

Both can give you a good-looking site. They differ in what happens after launch.

WordPress

A ready-made system you log into to edit pages yourself. Good when you'll change content often and want to do it without calling anyone. The trade-off: it needs updating to stay safe, and plugins can pile up and slow it down.

A custom site

Pages built directly, with nothing to log into and nothing to keep patched. Good when the site is mostly steady — your services, your contact details, a few photos. It's faster and there's far less that can break. The trade-off: changes come through us rather than you editing live.

A simple rule of thumb

  • Editing content weekly, and comfortable doing it yourself? WordPress.
  • A steady brochure site you want fast and low-maintenance? Custom.

Our $200 build covers either — your choice. If you're not sure, tell us how often you'll change things and we'll point you the right way.
