At MinakiLabs-IX, we are laying the groundwork for a new kind of Internet Exchange Platform (IXP)—one that embraces experimentation, innovation, and community collaboration. Our mission is to develop a decentralized, accessible platform that empowers networks of all sizes to connect and exchange traffic efficiently, without the high barriers to entry traditionally seen in the IXP industry.
Although we are still in the early stages, our vision is to create an IXP that enhances the speed, efficiency, and affordability of internet access through innovative peering solutions. Our Services at MinakiLabs-IX
At MinakiLabs-IX, we are in the early stages of creating an experimental and collaborative Internet Exchange Platform (IXP). While our infrastructure is currently minimal, we are working towards building a platform that can support a range of innovative peering, networking, and colocation services. Our goal is to build a decentralized and scalable system that can grow with the help of the community. Below are the services we aim to provide as we develop.
1. Autonomous System Peering (Future Service)
We are laying the groundwork to support Autonomous System (AS) Peering. This will allow ISPs, content providers, and networks of all sizes to connect directly, reducing dependency on traditional transit networks, and potentially improving latency and reducing operational costs. As we grow, we hope to enable more efficient traffic exchange for smaller networks and startups.
2. Public and Experimental Peering Facilities (In Progress)
Our platform is still in its early stages, but we are working to build a public and experimental peering environment. This will allow networks to experiment with innovative peering setups in a decentralized exchange environment. We encourage peers who are interested in contributing to the development of this experimental facility to join us.
3. Private Network Interconnections (Future Service)
In the future, we aim to provide Private Network Interconnection services for organizations that require enhanced privacy and security. These dedicated connections will allow networks to establish direct peering relationships with chosen partners, ensuring more predictable and secure data exchanges.
4. Colocation Services (Planning Phase)
Though we are still in the planning stages, MinakiLabs-IX will eventually offer colocation services for small businesses, startups, and ISPs. Our plan is to create a scalable, secure environment where networks can house their critical infrastructure and participate in our exchange. We are looking for partners to help us build and shape this vision.
5. Edge Services (Future Focus)
As we develop, edge services will become a key part of our offering. We plan to enable low-latency, distributed services designed for the growing demands of streaming, gaming, and IoT applications. These services will allow data processing to occur closer to the source, enhancing performance and reducing delays.
